"We're completely in love!" ― Sarai
Sarai Shihara (紫原サライ) is one of four main characters in Police x Heroine Lovepatrina!. She is a bright and optimistic girl who loves sweets and a huge fan of Mirage²/Phantomirage who transforms into Lovepat Purple. Her power element is Sweets.
Biography[]
Appearance[]
As Sarai, she is a short girl with a dark brown bob cut with curled tips and bangs swept to the right. Her casual outfits are coloured purple that cute and trendy nonetheless. However, she is mostly wears a white short-sleeved shirt and a pink skirt.
In her school uniform, she wears a white polo shirt with a navy bow on its collar underneath a knee-length navy dress. She also wears a pair of knee-length socks and black sandals.
During winter, she switches from white polo shirt to white long-sleeve.
As Lovepat Purple, her hair gains with purple streaks and twisted braided crown at the back of her head. She wears a pair of coral-shaped masks and a gem next to her eyes. She wears a small purple police hat sitting at the top of her head. Her tops consists a white police jacket with golden accent, violet checkered lapels, a lilac collar with a purple ribbon and her personal Lovepat Charm, white frills on its sleeves, a frilly lilac waistband and a black belt with a small gold buckle. Her Lovepat Shuffle is located in her right waist and a mauve ribbon is sewn on her back. Her skirt is layered by a purple left slit, different patterns and shades of purple-to-white sewn together and a violet puffy petticoat. She wears a pair of knee-high white socks with lilac designs, crossed anklets and white shoes with purple shoelaces and golden accent. On her hands, she wears white palmless gloves with purple frills and purple ribbons. Her nails are polished with purple, lilac and silver with charms each. The Lovepatrina Insignia is located in her hat, left shoulder, the middle part of her jacket, socks and shoes.
In the style of anime and manga, Sarai has eye makeup, lavender-purple hair, and has wisteria colored highlights.
Personality[]
Sarai is a bright and cheerful 1st year middle school student, often being the energy booster of the Lovepats. Always smiling, she always tries to find a way to brighten up the atmosphere. Although chatty and consistently hyper, she has matured a lot since becoming a real girl. Often thinking of others, she shares the caring personality type with her father, both of whom wish to get a cake which her mother loves.[citation needed]
Her love for things is mostly reflected in her love for sweets, making her a massive sweet tooth. Even dreaming of becoming a pastry chef when she's older. Her love of sweets and wanting to protect them earned her the right to become a Lovepat.[2]
Relationships[]
Tsubasa Aiba - Tsubasa is one of Sarai's classmates who she becomes a Lovepat with. It was Tsubasa's appearance as a Lovepat which made Sarai want to become one. Sarai idolizes how she managed to protect people's love.
Phantomirage - A senior heroine group that Sarai looks up to. She is one of the few people who know the girls' real identities without affecting them. She spent most of her days prior to become a Lovepat with them, and there is a high possibility that her love of sweets stemmed from the fact she often hung out with them at Kokomi's Dad's Sweet Shop. She has also stated that her love for dance was also because the girls danced together as Mirage Mirage.
Dan Shihara - Her father, he adopted her when she was a doll and the two worked together to defeat the Phantomirage before they were both eventually defeated. The two are close and he always tries to keep the promises he makes for her.
Etymology[]
Sarai (サライ) is a Hebrew given name for 'princess'.
Shihara (紫原) is composed between 紫 meaning 'purple' (as her theme color), and 原 meaning 'field', 'plain' or 'prairie'.
History[]
Living with her father and mother, she is a big fan of the Girls Heroine. After being purified by the Phantomirage who turned her into a real girl whilst she was still a villain, it's been a dream of hers to become one.[3]

Synopsis[]
Becoming a Lovepat[]
A year after turning into a real girl and moving towns[4], Sarai witnesses Lovepat Pink fighting the Kondate Onaji at the park.[5] After that day, Sarai uses the Lovepat Yell she received to yell "Where are you, Lovepatrina? I want to become a Lovepat!" on the school roof. Seeing this, Tsubasa and Lovepyoco use the Profile Card to investigate her. It reveals that she's a member of the dance club, her favorite food is sweets, and that she admires the Girls Heroine. Spotting them, Sarai pops in and explains how there were people she admired a long time ago (referencing to Phantomirage), which is why she too wants to become one.
When a baker is turned into a Love Zero, Sarai decides to take charge and block her away from the crowd. Her love of sweets and will to protect others earned her the Lovepat Shuffle where Director Loveji tells her she has been chosen to be a Lovepatrina. Sarai transforms with Tsubasa for the first time as Lovepat Purple. After using Candy Mode to get the Love Zero to copy her movements, the two turn her back to normal. Once the battle ended, Sarai tells Tsubasa that though she admires the other Girl Heroines, she admires Lovepat Pink too.[6]
Later, Sarai and Tsubasa head to the library to purify a Love Zero, who turns out to be the librarian of the school. Unbeknownst to the girls, Sora, a female student, was watching them. As the Lovepats take down the Love Zero, Sora stands up in awe. As the girls head out to leave, Sora stops them but Tsubasa momentarily panics as she accidentally calls out Sora’s name, though luckily, she doesn’t notice. Sora asks if she could help, and as the girls were confused by what she meant, Director Loveji appears, saying that he has the perfect job for Sora. Sarai questions if she wants to fight with them, but Sora disagrees, staying as a Lovepat Supporter.
As Kohana transfers to Sarai's school, the girls are shocked by how skillful she is in terms of academics and sports. As a florist becomes a Love Zero, Sarai and Tsubasa rush over to where Kohana and the florist were. Unable to defeat the Love Zero, Kohana's strong love for flowers makes her a Lovepat. She transforms for the first time, and with the power of the three, purify the Love Zero. Lovepatrina thus becomes a trio.
Upon meeting the Phantomirage again at a dance event, after successfully purifying a Love Zero, the girls (after realizing her identity) reveal how happy they are that she has finally accomplished her dream of becoming a Girls Heroine.[3]
Transforming into Lovepyocorina[]
After Tsubasa was unable to defeat a new powered up Love Zero, the Waru Waru Love Zero, Sarai and the others at the headquarters wonder how to defeat it. The four believing they could rid of it using their new “Lovely Card” however Director Loveji tells them that the power it has won’t be enough. Meanwhile, Hayato has run off to a library to search for what they need, ultimately finding what could help get the girls to power up.
Searching for the item using multiple maps that mysteriously led them back to the headquarters, the girls are confused as to where to look. The next day, Tsubasa reveals that Lovepyoco had gone missing - later realising that it was because she revealed aloud that she disliked carrots, even though Lovepyoco had presented her with some. Tsubasa searches for her, and later Sarai and the others join her. Suddenly, the Waru Waru Love Zero appears and binds them with hand-like handcuffs. But Lovepyoco's determination to protect them sets them free, and she also reveals another item - after feeling a random surge of power within her. Sarai and the others take the Lovepat Pyoco Heart and transform into Lovepyocorina.[7]
In order to help Lovepyoco and to regain her energy again, Sarai suggests on making carrot ice cream for her. When stuck, she remembers Minoru Umeno - although she no longer knows where he is as he had gone travelling the world. She further reveals that she hasn't seen him since moving. Using the Scope Card, the Lovepat's find him at his own patisserie where he had been turned into a Waru Waru Love Zero. Transforming into Lovepyocorina, the girls restore him back to normal and he provides them with the carrot ice cream.[4]

Mode Changes[]
"Lovepat Purple, Sarai!"
Lovepat Purple (ラブパトパープル) is Sarai's Base Heroine Mode. In this mode, she can access different modes, items, and powers by borrowing them from Lovepat Cards through the Lovepat Shuffle and the Lovepat Wing.
Transformation[]
Sarai inserts the Lovepat Purple Transform Card into the Lovepat Shuffle and shuffles it in before pressing the ribbon button. She then gets transported to her locker room where three elephant statues for each part of her Lovepat Uniform come out of the locker cabinets and sprays her with the particles that bind together to form her uniform around her. After being equipped in her uniform, she starts her solo dance sequence or with the other Lovepatrina members, depending on the situation, and gets transported back near the Love Zero afterward. The transformation seemed to be instantaneous, like the Love Zero and the civilians don't even notice her and the others disappearing and reappearing in the duration of their transformation.

Candy Mode (キャンディーモード) is Lovepat Purple's first mode change. In this mode, she gains access to a pair of Lollipop Sticks that has candy-related powers.

Lovepat Purple inserts the Lovepat Candy Card into the Lovepat Shuffle and shuffles the card in before pressing the ribbon button. She then twirls around and her hat hairband transforms into a candy hairband.
Special Mode Ability[]
- Lollipop Sticks - Lovepat Purple Candy Mode's signature weapons. It has various functions.
- Confusion - Lovepat Purple Candy Mode can use her double lollipop sticks to trick the Love Zero into mimicking her actions.
- Sweet Tooth - Lovepat Purple Candy Mode can give her double lollipop sticks to turn the target into a sweets lover.
- Cotton Candy Cuffs - Lovepat Purple Candy Mode can whip up cotton candy and use it to bind a Love Zero.
"Lovepat Purple, Parfait Mode! Num num! It's tasty!"
Parfait Mode (パフェモード) is Lovepat Purple's second mode change. In this mode, she gains parfait-related powers.
Transformation[]
Lovepat Purple inserts the Lovepat Parfait Card into the Lovepat Shuffle and shuffles the card in before pressing the ribbon button. She then twirls around and her hat hairband transforms into a parfait hairband.
Special Mode Ability[]
- Confectionery - Lovepat Purple can whip up some sweets to make the Love Zero remember a bit of love.
"Lovepat Purple, Curry Mode! Fire! Fire! It's spicy!"
Curry Mode (カレーモード) is Lovepat Purple's third mode change and the least she's interested in since it's a mode change that is the least match to her element. They received the card when Lovepyoco's LovePyoco Meter reached full after Sora gave her a donut while in her Lovepat Skyly. In this mode, she gains access to curry-related powers.

Lovepat Purple inserts the Lovepat Curry Card into the Lovepat Shuffle and shuffles the card in before pressing the ribbon button. She then twirls around and her hat hairband transforms into a sweet curry plate hairband.
Special Mode Ability[]
- Curry Powder - Lovepat Purple Curry Mode temporarily gains access to a certain amount of curry powder to use against Love Zeroes.
- Curry Shop - Lovepat Purple Curry Mode can temporarily erect a small shop to serve curry.
"With Lovepat, Lovepyocorina!"
Lovepyocorina (ラブピョコリーナ) is the strongest power-up mode of the four Lovepatrinas.
Transformation[]
Pressing the pink heart in the Lovepat Pyoco Heart four times, afterwards inserting the Lovepyocorina Trans Form Card, the spherical screen at the center of the Lovepat Pyoco Heart to reveal Lovepyoco, who says "Pyocorina!" Pressing the pink button again three times while saying "Love", "Pyoco", and "Rina", the four girls would then transform into their Lovepyocorina Modes.

- Lovepat Shuffle (ラブパトシャッフル): Lovepatrina's transformation item.
- Lovepat Wing (ラブパトウィング): Lovepatrina's attack item used to defeat the "Love Zero".
- Lovepat Cards: Various attacks can be used with the cards.
- Lovepat Whistle (ラブパトホイッスル): a small whistle that announces the Lovepatrinas' arrival along with the Love Violation Card.
- Purple Hammer: Sarai has a purple hammer similar to the ones Kokomi Sakurai and the Reverse Police had. It is decorated in a purple cloth covering around the hammer head and has lollipop and candy stickers.[8]
- Phantomi Coffret: One of Sarai's Phantomi-related items that she inspected while looking for Phantomirage's Extra Super Treasure.[9]
- Flutter Perfume and Kizuna Perfume: Sarai's Phantomi Perfumes that she inspected while looking for Phantomirage's Extra Super Treasure.[9]
- Phantomi Diamond's Mascot sketch: Seira's
attempted sketch of Kumachii from the Phantomirage Movie. It is one of Sarai's Phantomi-related items that she inspected while looking for Phantomirage's Extra Super Treasure.[9] - Bittomo Whistle: a whistle that functions similarly to the Lovepatrinas' Lovepat Yell. It was given to them by Kirapawa Sunny after saving Lovepat Pink.[10]
